Why a full evaluation
Trouble focusing, finishing, or sitting still can come from ADHD. It can also look like ADHD while coming from a learning difference, anxiety, mood, or a mix of several things at once. A screening questionnaire cannot tell those apart. A comprehensive evaluation can, because it measures cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning together and reads them alongside your history.
That is the standard at Amlea for every ADHD question, whether it is a child who cannot stay in their seat, a teenager whose grades do not match their ability, or an adult who has always wondered.

A built-in 15-minute pause, then a 30-minute fNIRS session that observes prefrontal activity with a soft near-infrared headband. No electrodes, no gel, no radiation.
Scores, clinical observations, and fNIRS observations come together in one written report and one plan.

Common questions
Yes. Because attention and learning concerns overlap so often, ADHD evaluations at Amlea include academic and cognitive measures, so a learning difference is identified rather than missed. Learning and academic testing.
Yes. Adult ADHD evaluations follow the same structure, with history and measures appropriate for adults, and reports that work for college disability offices and workplace accommodation requests.
No. The fNIRS band only measures blood-flow activity in the prefrontal cortex. What it shows becomes one more layer of context in your report. The diagnosis itself always comes from validated testing and clinical judgment.

ADHD testing is provided in person at our office at 2631 Gattis School Rd, Round Rock, TX 78664, and by secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Families come to us from across Central Texas, including Hutto, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, and Austin.
