Amlea is honored to be a Heart Galleries of Texas Phase III Post-Adoption Grant recipient, supporting comprehensive psychological evaluations and psychotherapy for 50 post-permanency families across Texas. To extend the impact of this award further, Amlea has pledged to fully cover services for an additional 6 families, bringing the total commitment to 56 families. This article explains what that means in practice.
What is covered
For eligible families, Amlea provides comprehensive psychological evaluations and psychotherapy at no cost. The care is the same care Amlea provides to every client: a multi-dimensional evaluation with a clinical interview, standardized testing, a built-in break, a 30-minute fNIRS session and integrated feedback, and, when therapy is the next step, the structured neuro-paired therapy program.
Who may be eligible
The program is for post-permanency families, meaning families formed through adoption or other permanent placement, who meet the grant's eligibility criteria. Because eligibility is defined by the program rather than by this website, the CareTeam confirms it with each family directly. Please do not assume you are ineligible; ask.
Why testing and therapy matter for these families
Children who join families through adoption or permanency may carry histories that affect attention, learning, attachment, emotional regulation and behavior in ways that are easy to misread. A comprehensive evaluation gives parents an accurate understanding of what is going on and what supports fit. Therapy that begins from that understanding, rather than from guesswork, gives families a plan and a benchmark for progress.
How to start
- Request an appointment through the secure portal or call 512-417-6504 and mention the Heart Galleries of Texas program.
- The CareTeam confirms eligibility and explains what documentation, if any, is needed.
- An evaluation is scheduled, in Round Rock or by secure telehealth where clinically appropriate.
- Findings and next steps are explained in plain language, and therapy follows when it is the right fit.
